FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do I do if I have a car accident?

The most important step is to make sure all parties are ok and your vehicle is moved to a safe location away from traffic. You’ll need to exchange information (driver and vehicle details) with all involved parties and note the time and location of the accident. If you don’t already have one of our ACCIDENT INFO cards, get in touch and we’ll send one out to you.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes, we do. At the time of lodging your claim you will need to nominate DSI Panels as your preferred repairer to enable us to liaise directly with your insurance company. If you have difficulty allocating your repairs to us, let us know so we can assist with this initial claim process.

Do I have to contact my insurer or can you?

To initially lodge a claim through your own insurance, yes you will. Once nominating DSI as your preferred repairer we will handle the rest. However if you are a Third Party and the at-fault driver has lodged with their insurer, you shouldn’t need to lodge your own claim, but you will need the claim number to be able to nominate DSI as your repairer. Once you pass on the claim number to us, we can contact the other drivers’ insurance company on your behalf.

Can I choose my own repairer?

In most instances, yes you can. There are only limited insurance policies that do not permit Choice of Repairer. Be sure to check the wording of your current policy to avoid any unexpected surprises at the time of lodging a claim. As we are a recommended repairer for most insurers we can assist with any questions you may have.

Do I have to get more than one quote?

Usually, no. There are some rare circumstances where two quotes will be required. If your insurer has requested you obtain another quote, let us know so we can advise you on the next steps.

How long will the repairs take?

Repair lengths can vary – they are dependent on the type of vehicle, severity of the impact, labour required and availability of parts. Further damage discovered during dismantling can mean extra time is needed to order parts and carry out additional repairs. We always endeavour to provide the most accurate estimated completion date at the time of drop off and will keep you informed of the repair progress. Should any unforeseen matters arise that may cause a delay, you will be notified immediately.

How will I know when my vehicle is ready?

Regular progress updates will be sent via either SMS or email. You are welcome to contact us at any time to enquire about the status of your vehicle repairs. Once your car is ready, we will be in touch to organise a pick up date and time.

Will my vehicle be cleaned?

Yes… we offer a complimentary wash & vacuum on all vehicles once repairs are completed. Should you prefer a full detail (inc. buff & polish), speak to our friendly staff at the time of drop off for pricing and availability.

Do you offer a guarantee?

All works performed by DSI Panels are covered by a lifetime guarantee for as long as you own the vehicle. If this is not covered by your insurance company DSI Panels will cover this for you.
